Voice: Hello everyone this is The Voice once again bringing you an interview of a up and comer in the state of Florida! He's run his own promotion and now he trying to start it back up while climbing the ladder in other promotions. I'm of course speaking of Florida's "Ace", Vinny Lee! Welcome Vinny, It's a pleasure.
Ace: Its an honor to be able to do this interview with you.
Voice: Hey, the pleasure's all mine brother. So how you feeling today?
Ace: Really good. Its Valentine's Day, after all. Everyone should feel good today.
Voice: Hmmmm. I think this holiday is a work.
Ace: It totally is. Something developed by Corporate America take make more money off consumers, and to make men feel like douche bags one more day out of the year.
Voice: Man, have you heard the bitterretard.net song?
Ace: No, but I read the song MSL posted on Floridaindies.com
Voice: It's hilarious! What do you think about MSL poking fun at guys like Blair, Bonez, David Mercury, and Alan?
Ace: I think people need to grow thick skin. Early on when I started, I didn't have that, and I took things to heart. Now, I just let that stuff roll off. People want to get a rise outta you. You can't let them. Some of the stuff has been pretty funny, and you just gotta remember, its a work(for the most part).
Voice: True. So back to you. What the next show you're working?
Ace: I'm booked for an NAW show March 10th or 24th. They're finalizing a date with the Auburndale Moose Lodge. But, I'll also work any show that'll let me. I try to get out to as many shows as possible. It seems to be the only way to get work.
Voice: NAW? I thought you guys had problems?
Ace: We worked that stuff out. At first, I was given some bad info, and, I admit, I started the NAW Bashfest. But, Matrix (the owner) and I have since buried the hatchet, and I'm now working for them.
Voice: Who have you worked there?
Ace: I've worked two shows so far. In the first show, I work Aristat. The second show, which was a WTC show with NAW along side, I worked a tag match against Matrix and Dagon Lee. My partner was Donnie Bass(people know him as the Hardcore Cowboy from TNA fan-line fame). That show was horrible to say the least.
Voice: Are most of them bad?
Ace: The WTC stuff is. The NAW will get better. Its really only had one solo show since they've started back up. And that was before they got Snow, Dagon Briggs, and Angel of Darkness signed on.
Voice: Have you had any major feuds since starting in wrestling?
Ace: In the Innovative Wrestling Experience, Austin Amadeus and myself had a notable feud with the Hillbillies. It was some of the best matches I had, working with those guys.
Voice: Speaking of IWE, when is it set to make a comeback?
Ace: As soon as I can find a suitable building. The co-owner and myself have been looking frantically, but trying to find a building willing to do a weekly show has been extremely tough. Plus, sponsorship is key. It costs a small fortune to run a good promotion, and I don't want to start over again. I want to bring in guys like Bruce Santee, HBX, Kenny King, as well as bring back IWE alumni like Eddie Taurus, Steve Madison, Noiie Lee, etc.
Voice: Are you and Nooie related?
Ace: No. LOL. I get that alot. He's a great guy, though.
Voice: Did IWE have champions?
Ace: No. We didn't feel it necessary. It was an idea at first, but people knew from the storylines who the top Heavyweights where(Taurus, Torcher, Madison) and who the top cruiserweights were(Legion Cage, Nooie Lee). Belts aren't always necessary to promote who your top guys are. We had the confidence in our guys that they could prove championship worthy, without the psychical belts in play. And they did, week in and week out.
Voice: Who have you not wrestled but would like to?
Ace: Eddie Taurus, Kenny King, Steve Madison. I'd also love to have a match with Buck Quartermaine. He taught me alot, and I'd love to have match with him somewhere.
Voice: Why not book it in IWE: Reopen
Ace: God, I'd love to. But if I can book Kenny King vs. Buck instead, I know that would be a much better match. I don't need to put myself over. I'd rather give the fans the best possible match. Hopefully though, I can book that match one day, and wrestle Buck.
Voice: Let's get some thought on Promotions and Wrestlers, Cool?
Ace: Cool, lets do it.
Voice: AAP?
Ace: Never seen it, but its an interesting concept. I'll probably check out their next show.
Voice: FIP?
Ace: Great Promotion. Some of not only Florida's Best, but the World's best workers. A solid promotion, all around
Voice: SCW?
Ace: Never seen it. Have heard up-n-down things. Can't judge it I se it, though.
Voice: MSL?
Ace: A very interesting man. Truly Living the Gimmick. Probably has never had kind words for me. He does back up the things he says, for the most part.
Voice: Jerrelle Clark?
Ace: Nice guy. During the FL Gauntlet, when Bruce Santee shot me in the chest with a canon, Jerrelle stuck his head out to check. He asked me how I was doing backstage, too. Again, nice guy, like his work alot.
Voice: Chasyn Rance?
Ace: Big talent. Going places. Never actually met him, but love his work.
Voice: David Mercury?
Ace: Love the guy. Helped IWE get started. Lots of talent.
Voice: Chaz Matrix?
Ace: Good guy. I know how he feels, trying to start a promotion, dealing with all the negativity.
Voice: Modern Day Theory?
Ace: Two of the best workers in the state. And two of the most humble guys I've ever met in the business. Would definitely book them on a regular basis.
Voice: And lastly, "The Ace" Vinny Lee?
Ace: A rising star working around the state, trying to get better and better. Willing to bust his ass for any promotion that willing to give him a shot.
Voice: Wow! Well thank you Vinny for your time. Best of luck getting IWE back up and running, and I hope to see you in South Florida soon.
Ace: Same to you. Thanks for the opportunity
